What is Coaching or Life Coaching?
Coaching or Life Coaching is an enterprise which began in earnest at some time in the 1990s. It initially began at the upper-level executive ranks where a CEO or other top company leader would enlist the services of a coach to improve the performance and well-being of organizational contributors. Such leaders possessed the thick skin to understand that they alone couldn’t improve everything that needed to be improved within their respective enterprises and thus relied upon coaches to assist in the formation of goals along with personal responsibility in achieving those goals. Life Coaching has now blossomed into a multi-faceted industry which now encompasses assisting individuals in their pursuits to achieve their true potentials within their own personal existences.
Do I need a life or personal coach?
Bill Gates is amongst the world’s most successful people and acknowledged that "everyone needs a coach". It is without a doubt that everyone goes through difficult challenges in life in one way or another. Sometimes we are faced with challenges beyond our abilities or we might just need someone to validate our decisions. We can use someone with the knowledge, skills and practical know-how with whom we can partner. While you may have been able to cope with challenges some of the challenges you encounter, it’s always a good idea to seek extra support when necessary. Certainly, having a Coach of your choice or a Life Coach who is there to help you to realize and overcome your habits and behavioral patterns so that you can better realize your full potential. Research proves that people who adapt to a Coach or a Life Coach are the ones who are willing to do the work needed to live a more fulfilled life and they are the ones who end up ahead of their peers. There is a saying that two heads are better than one. Having someone with the mindset, experience and skill set to guide you through difficult or non difficult situations simply add potential to your own ability of becoming more successful.
How can a life coach help me?
The potential of putting yourself first is in and of itself a victory to your well being. Putting yourself first is the only way you are able to care for others. Hiring a life coach to partner with your cause or well being in any aspects of your life and prospects for success defines and cultivates your path to become successful. As every individual is different as well as are their needs and wants, a life coach can help you in facilitating your expected outcomes in variety of desirable areas. Professionally, a life coach can help you focus on your career and help you market yourself more effectively to your employers. As a leader in your organization, working directly with people or subordinates, a knowledgeable Coach is there to guide and help you answer some of those difficult questions not taught in the classroom or from your company manual. Personally, a life coach can help you improve your relationships with other people and improve your overall well-being. Through life coaching, you can live a more-balanced and fulfilling life. There are likely no two Life Coaches who will define their profession in exactly the same manner. Commonalities, however, amongst all Life Coaches might include looking forward as opposed to dwelling on the past as well as enabling clients to look from deep within to achieve their desired outcomes. I believe that hiring a life coach to be amongst the best decisions you can make for yourself and your life.

Life Coaching vs. Therapy
Life Coaching is not counseling nor is it therapy. Life coaches are not required to possess degrees in psychology as they do not diagnose psychological states of being. Similar to the case of a sports coach, Life Coaches endeavor to facilitate their clients’ forward ways of thinking in a manner which enables them to actualize their true potentials. There is no requirement to be diagnosed in order to enjoy the benefits of a life coach as is the case with seeing a therapist. Life coaching is not intended to dwell on the past but rather is meant to optimize your strengths for the purpose of the realization of future improvement. Where you have been or your past problems or challenges do not define you as much where you can choose to find yourself or what you can truly achieve. Life coaching is different than therapy in that its focus is not in overcoming your psychological issues. The purpose of life coaching is to help you identify your goals and achieve them. With life coaching, very little emphasis is placed on the past. Instead, our focus is on creating the life that you want now and in the future.
Will our conversations remain confidential?
While the law does not impose the requirement of confidentiality on life coaches, what we discuss will not be shared with others. Life coaching is a confidential process and must and will remain so in order for it to be successful. High levels of ethical and moral alignment will be taken into consideration to ensure confidentiality.
